(feel free to delete the previous review, I posted-- this one is after the full year, not just the first three months):

For those looking at costings: over a year,
I've had two sets that had the rrp of £21.50, 5 of £18 and three that are £15, and one month with two £12.50 value. Christmas had two-- I didn’t get to the shop in time to check the price, but based on equivalents, I’m putting the values down as (19.5 +21.5)

43 +90+25+ 45+ 19.50 + (21.5)? = 254 rrp
With P&P; for 12 months @ 3.50 = 42
Total maximum value = £296, for which I paid £258.

The total maximum value is because a lot of the knickers are cheaper at first, and assuming I was buying a pair a month (rather than combining sales)-- At least four of them while I had my subscription were started with a £5, discount plus there are various other deals going in through the months.

So this is the thing: I definitely think the knickers are worth the price I’ve paid-- there’s a reason I signed up, a reason I’ve stayed signed up. But I also think that the Year Of Pants is a more expensive way of getting the knickers-- you pay for the niceness of getting something through the post, but if you wanted just the 12 sets (or even 14), then it would be a lot cheaper buying them outside it.

I was definitely happy with my subscription, it probably prompted me to try styles I wouldn’t have otherwise, but i probably wouldn’t sign up again. I still love the undies themselves, love the ranges, the comfort-- I would definitely recommend them to anyone, but you pay a premium to get them on subscription.

For what it’s worth, the most expensive range is probably the Rosalind (comparing knickers in the same fabric across ranges). The newer rangers have a cheaper average price of £15, meaning that you’re less likely to get a set with a £21.50+ value. I like the new ranges, and my favourite sets have been some of the basics, but this does mean that the current model may need adjusting to compensate for this.

In conclusion-- fun to get them through the post, useful as a sampler of the ranges, but you may be better off just getting a bunch all at once.

In all honesty, I probably don't need a new pair of pants once a month. But this is nothing to do with need. I wouldn't have signed up to this if I wasn't looking for a way to support the company ethos because as another reviewer said it's not necessarily a bargain (but I'm sure over the year I'll have had value for money). The pants are great and I particularly like the variety. If it was left to me I'd probably have stuck to my favourite style and just bought new colours, but this is much more fun. Plus if I'm ever in need of a gift for a friend (I'm lucky that most of my friends probably have a similar sized bum to me) I have something - which makes me feel a little less guilty for indulging myself once a month. If you're skint don't do it but if you fancy supporting this excellent initiative and you like getting pants in the post, don't hesitate!

Loved the packaging, loved the service, loved the pants. Mostly, I loved the surprise of not knowing what kind of pretty I was getting. And of course, knowing it's all made from good and for good. Am looking forward to next month's surprise :-)

Best purchase ever! How do you decide on which wonderful pair to buy? Easy let Who Made Your Pants decide for you. If I had the money all my friends would be getting a AYOP for Christmas.

It's hard to remember where I heard about Who Made Your Pants? For a while now, my girlfriends and I have been discussing how difficult it is to 'shop ethical' and when I found this it was like discovering El Dorado! I've struck knicker gold! My first delivery arrived last week and the pants are beautiful, delicate, comfortable and can be traced directly back to source. What's not to like? Thoroughly recommend and I'm telling anyone who will listen, or at least humour me and pretend to listen. Long may A Year Of Pants reign. Thank you, lovely ladies.

Firstly, this is not a comment on the quality of the undies- they're great and I definitely recommend them. What l don't necessarily recommend is the yearly subscription, because it's an expensive way of buying them. Get it if you want something nice through the post, but not if you're anticipating any savings. So far, I've had one set that has the rrp of £21.50 and two that are £15. Don't get me wrong, I like each set, but even with postage and packaging, you're paying over the odds- that is, over three months, I've paid £64. 50 for knickers of a £51.50 value . It's possible that future orders will have £25 value sets, but it would need to be at least 4 to match value. The
Basically, I do suggest getting the knickers- I've tried four styles, they've all fit and looked great, but it's been 25‰ more expensive than buying them without.

Note: that's without p&p;, but even if I'd bought one set each month, it's still have only cost £62 total (3.50 a month p&p;).

Thanks for this comment Jenny. Really glad to hear that you love the pants!

You're absolutely right that in *your* Year of Pants so far the prices have worked out as you said. We aim for the saving to show over the whole year - and in every twelve month period since we launched Year of Pants in August 2012, it has done just that. It comes in bumps though - the box has never contained just one pair at Christmas time for example, and we do try to send Year of Pants members pants as soon as they become available - before they are on sale to the public. If that means we launch a lot of £18 Aimee or Cecilia, you'll make zero saving in those months - but then if we launched three £21.50 Rosalinds in a row, you'd see the saving quicker.

Our launches tend to be driven by what fabrics we can get when - buying from end of line can mean we see nothing new for a while and then get ten new fabrics in one delivery and get very excited! We're going to take your comments into our production planning though and see if we can make the launches more even in terms of price so that saving is more obvious.

Thanks so much for your comment - knowing what people think *really* helps us

I'm really excited about my year of pants and can't wait to see my underwear drawer filling up with your beautiful fabrics and lace. I don't usually like surprises but for the next 12 months I know all my surprises are going to be nice ones.

AYOP is the best thing I have ever done. Every time I receive my pants via the post I am excited to see what is in the box and the pants I have received are just beautiful. Its a great scheme and one I will continue year after year. I am now never, ever going to wear another pair of high street pants. WMYP have completely changed my opinion of how pants are made and who is making them. The pants are so beautifully made, ultra comfortable and so sexy.

Feel good pants in every sense: Lovely workmanship and design, a joy to wear, thrill of the unknown every month and the certainty that everything you've spent is contributing to a brilliant social enterprise. Thank you x

I love getting my new pants in the post every month, and it feels like a really personal service. So far, these have been the most comfortable pants I have owned - better than giant granny pants for comfort, and far prettier to look at! I also love the surprise which comes when opening the packaging... I am a big fan of pants, post, and presents, and this is a treat for myself which combines all three and goes towards supporting an excellent ethical business - what more could I ask for?
